Giulio is an FNRS Doctoral Fellow, conducting a Joint PhD between the Université Libre de Bruxelles (supervisor: Anne Weyembergh) and KU Leuven (supervisor: Elise Muir) on EU harmonisation of fundamental rights of suspects and accused persons in criminal proceedings.

He obtained with top grades a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Trento (2023) and a LLM from the College of Europe in Bruges (2024). He previously worked as a teaching assistant and research associate in the framework of the ERC funded RESHUFFLE project within the KU Leuven Institute for European Law (2024-25).
